HYPEX is the annual three-day exhibition of stamps, coins, paper currency and antiques organised by the Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society (HPHS), held at FTCCI House, Red Hills, Hyderabad. The event draws numismatists and traders from across India and is a fixture of the South Indian collector calendar.
HYPEX 2024 was celebrated as the exhibition's 62nd year, making it one of the longest-running numismatic-philatelic shows in India.
The Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society was formed in 1962 as the Indo-American Philatelic Society and was later renamed the Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society in 1974. HYPEX — the society's flagship public exhibition — reached its 62nd edition in 2024, reflecting the show's continuity over more than six decades. The society promotes philately and numismatics through exhibitions, seminars and workshops in schools and institutions.
Expect a three-day show with 50-plus exhibitors and traders from across India, displaying historical coins in gold, silver, copper and lead; ancient sikka; colonial-era currency; commemorative banknotes; international currency; and postal stamps. The 2025 edition featured 57 numismatists and traders. Entry is typically free or nominal; the show runs three days in November.
HYPEX is held at FTCCI House (Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry), Red Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana. The venue is centrally located in the city. Recent editions have run in mid-November (2024: Nov 15-17; 2025: Nov 14-16). Confirm current dates with HPHS or local press ahead of travel, as the exact weekend may vary.
