About Hong Kong International Coin & Watch Convention (HICC)

The Hong Kong International Coin Convention is a long-running numismatic fair organised by the dealer Ma Tak Wo, held twice a year in Hong Kong. It is one of Asia's busiest coin gatherings, drawing dealers and collectors from across the region and beyond for world and Chinese coins and banknotes.

Held in a hotel-ballroom format, it pairs a tightly packed dealer bourse with auction activity, taking advantage of Hong Kong's status as a free port.

History

The convention has been a fixture of the Hong Kong numismatic calendar for decades, run by the established local dealer Ma Tak Wo and held on a twice-yearly schedule.

What to Expect

Expect a dense bourse of Hong Kong, Chinese and international dealers in coins and banknotes, with auctions running alongside. As one of Asia's principal trade events, it is a key meeting point for the regional market, with Hong Kong's tax-free status easing cross-border dealing.
