The Alabama Numismatic Society Annual Convention is the state's largest coin show, held each July at the Bessemer Civic Center near Birmingham. Organized by the nonprofit Alabama Numismatic Society, it draws dealers from across the country and throughout the Southeast.
The free-admission bourse offers U.S. and world coins, paper money, medals, tokens and related material across more than a hundred dealer tables.
The convention is a long-running annual event — the 2026 edition is its 66th — and is described by the numismatic trade as Alabama's longest-running coin show. The Alabama Numismatic Society is a registered nonprofit; while the convention's edition count points to an origin around 1960, no source states an explicit founding year, so none is asserted.
Expect more than 100 dealer tables with dealers from across the country offering U.S. and foreign coins, paper money, medals, tokens, jewelry, old stocks and bonds, and supplies. Admission is free, with a Thursday dealer set-up ahead of the public weekend.
The convention is held at the Bessemer Civic Center, 1130 9th Avenue SW, Bessemer, Alabama, typically the third weekend of July (Friday–Sunday), with free parking. Confirm the current dates on the society's site.
